Upon discovering the potential threat of a dragon in the palace\, King Rhubarb charges Sir Reginald to fight the dragon. Will it be a fight to the death? Will it be a draw? Will they even fight at all? Find out in All Hands Productions version of “The Reluctant Dragon.” Loosely based on Kenneth Grahame’s book\, this production utilizes colorful moving-mouth hand puppets and rod puppets to tell a story about friendship and understanding. Puppets created by David Stephens and costumes by Sottie Rowell. Siamese Dream takes time to detail not only the sound but also the look of the original lineup. Their attention to detail goes as deep as using the exact pickup setup\, effects pedals and even having a custom Stratocaster built to bring back the tones that Billy Corgan and James Iha used on the albums. Siamese Dream shows include top 20 hits to deep cuts and B-sides\, acoustic shows with cello and Album shows that include performing the entire landmark albums Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness in its entirety.  \nStone Tribute Pilots formed in late 2015\, Stone Tribute Pilots (Brandon Kunka\, Jason Roby\, Mike Hale\, Travis Roye) came together with a strong love for the music of Stone Temple Pilots\, and a collective mourning of the death of frontman Scott Weiland. SUMMARY:Atlanta Funk Society
DESCRIPTION:Atlanta Funk Society is a Funk band from Atlanta\, GA\, playing classic hits from the ’60s\, ’70s and ’80s\, including everything from “Superbad” by James Brown\, to “Whatcha Gonna Do For Me” by Chaka Kahn.  \nStarted in the summer of 2010\, the Atlanta Funk Society brought together a collection of some of the best musicians Atlanta had to offer. Founding members guitarist and vocalist Rob Lane (the Apostles) and bass player Kevin Scott (Col. Bruce Hampton\, and others too numerous to mention) wanted to fill the need for a hard hitting funk band playing classic hits from the 60’s\, 70’s and 80’s.  \nTheir first call was to Jonathan Lloyd(Cadillac Jones\, Lloyds Rocksteady Review)\, local trombone player and vocalist to put together the horn section which has included Deniz Felder\, Jason Collier\, Jon Marett (Willie Nelson\, Waylon Jennings\, OutKast\, Goodie Mob)\, Prof. Eric Fontaine (just about every great band in Atlanta)\, and Taylor Kennedy (Soulphonics\, Blair Crimmins). Next to join were guitarist Nick Johnson(Last Waltz Ensemble\, Pharoh Gummitt) and drummer Duane Trucks(Derek Trucks\, Pharoh Gummit) lending their unrivaled musicianship to the group. The keyboards were manned by Florida transplant and first call pianist Nick Rosen. Scotty Bryan (Cinetrope\, 3052 dub Collective) stepped up the bands’ vibe with the addition of percussion.  \nThe next critical piece was a female vocalist\, and after a long search\, Michelle Marshall came into the fold and showed what was up. DESCRIPTION:Dave Potter is quickly becoming known as a formidable musician. He has performed with many well-known jazz artists and recorded 3 albums with Jason Marsalis. Following his graduation from Florida State University in 2005\, he was chosen from a national pool of applicants to be a member of the Louis Armstrong Quintet at the University of New Orleans. Unfortunately\, the tragedy of hurricane Katrina temporarily ended his hopes for a career in Louisiana. In the spring of 2006\, Dave was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Julliard Jazz Program in New York City. However\, after several days of intense meditation he declined the offer and returned to Florida State University\, where he received his Master’s Degree in the winter of 2008 after further collaboration with his mentor Marcus Roberts. In 2010\, Potter was featured in a novel entitled “The New Face of Jazz” about the younger generation of Jazz musicians making an impact in the current scene. Dave is now located in Atlanta where he maintains a busy teaching and performing schedule while also touring the globe as a member of The Jason Marsalis Vibes Quartet. \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nTickets are not available for FREE shows. An invitation to the stage was sent to Neal Colledge (bass/vocals) and Brian Hekman (drums/vocals) whom\, before that night\, had never met. \nThe three men had such a great time performing together and not being boring that they decided right there on that very stage in the small town of Canton\, GA that their quest of aural endeavors was only beginning. Their collective love for pop-turned-rock cover songs and influence from the sounds of 90’s rock and Motown with dashes of classic blues and pop led the trio into writing their own material as well.
