SUMMARY:Blair Crimmins and the Hookers
DESCRIPTION:Blair Crimmins began his current music career in Atlanta\, Georgia\, with a determination to bring Ragtime and 1920’s style Dixieland Jazz to new audiences. While playing small rock clubs around the Southeast he developed a sound that is at once modern while being deeply rooted in the past. He has toured the country playing large venues and has opened for acts such as Mumford & Sons and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. A multi-instrumentalist and music academic\, Crimmins writes songs and arrangements for a classic New Orleans style horn section consisting of trumpet\, clarinet and trombone. \nHis debut 2010 release The Musical Stylings Of became a college radio sensation on WRAS Atlanta making him the most requested band on the air. In 2012 Crimmins showed his musical diversity by writing and recording the full score for the independent short film “Old Man Cabbage”. The following year\, Crimmins was the critics pick for Best Song Writer of 2013 in Creative Loafing’s Best of ATL issue. His last album entitled Sing-a-longs! went to #21 on the EuroAmerican radio chart and earned him a nomination at The Georgia Music Awards for Best Jazz Artist. DESCRIPTION:Wren and the Wravens’ sound is an eclectic blend of retro soul\, pop and R&B. With energy that is uniting and infectious\, Wren and the Wravens’ music brings together people of all walks of life. \nOriginally named Secondhand Swagger\, Wren and the Wravens was formed in 2008 by Abby Wren (vocals) and Julian Scott (drums and vocals). Their sound was solidified with the inclusion of Tiffany Cherry White (keys and vocals)\, Rob Lane (guitar and vocals)\, and Robert Cordy (bass). \nWren and the Wravens\, an Atlanta based band\, has played numerous venues all along the eastern coast and has shared the stage with acts\, such as Arrested Development\, G. Love and Special Sauce\, The S.O.S. Band and Trombone Shorty. The band also makes an effort to support their community. They donate their time and music talents to the Songs for Kids Foundation by performing in the 500 Songs for Kids concert series every year. They recently participated at the Green Room Camp for kids with Re-Imagine ATL. Wren and the Wravens loves their community and they love using music to unite it. \nWren and the Wravens is currently working on their first album under the new name.
