DESCRIPTION:Dusty Roads is a high-energy Georgia-grown Americana band\, formed by Atlanta based musician\, J.L. Mickelson. You can also expect sprinklings of songs and sounds of the great writers and musicians from across the globe and halls of time\, like Django Earnhardt\, Duke Ellington\, and Irving Berlin.  “Come take a trip\, down that long\, dusty road”. \nComprised of some of the Southeast regions finest pickers and singers\, the band is ever evolving and growing.  They’re constantly searching for that sound\, that lick\, that twangy hook that sinks deep into the listener’s soul and pulls them into the unfolding story of each song.  Dusty Roads cherishes the purity of silvery steel strings ringing together harmoniously.  The band champions comradery\, respect for the craft of their instruments\, and finely constructed songs that feel as if they soar down from the mountaintop to resonate the listener’s heart-strings. \n“We came here with one purpose\, to have a blast playing and performing live acoustic music”- J.L. Mickelson\, singer/songwriter for Dusty Roads.   Growing up in Atlanta\, Mickelson was surrounded by a diverse world of cultures and music his whole life.  “My great-grandfather was a mandolin player from Germany\, so I guess it just runs in the blood”\, says Mickelson of his musical lineage.  Like a rear-view mirror in a pick-up truck\, Dusty Roads looks back through the history of written and recorded music\, studying fervently to decipher just what made each of these classic songs so special and unique.  Just like ‘looking backwards to go forwards’\, Mickelson applies this approach to writing original material for the band. \nDuring the Winter of 2015\, Dusty Roads went into the studio to begin recording its debut self-titled album. It is a celebration!\nFronted by maybe the one person on the planet who simultaneously possesses both the instrumental and vocal chops to do it justice\, The Endorphin Machine is exactly as advertised — a virtuoso tribute to the musical genius of Prince. And this is a tribute in its purest and rawest form — an in-your-face\, passion-pounding\, power-funk\, guitar-shredding\, get-off-your-ass-and-dance BLAST through the eras\, incarnations\, and musical inventions of the artist who will always be known as PRINCE.\nSo who has the ability and the audacity — the balls\, if you will — to perpetrate a Prince Tribute with a 3-piece power trio? Meet Eddie Bush. When he erupted out of his native Charleston\, SC in the late 90s as a young rock gunslinger\, Eddie quickly garnered all the glowing accolades — the Atlanta Journal-Constitution called him a “cross between Steve Vai and Jeff Beck” — and toured with the likes of Eric Johnson. But he also sported a voice that eventually landed him a major label deal (and a Top-40 single) in the 2000s with country vocal trio “One Flew South” (Decca/Universal). The thing is\, through all the career turns and comparisons to the likes of Jimi Hendrix\, Eddie’s ultimate hero had always been Prince.  \nIn fact\, every chance he got over the years\, Eddie Bush would whip out his signature turbo-charged Prince covers\, and whether it was in front of a Rock\, R&B or even Country audience — hell\, even once at a Blues Festival! — the crowd would go bonkers. And more importantly\, anytime there were true Prince aficionados present they would invariably be absolutely blown away by the power and passion\, the real tribute he was paying. Thus was born the unique concept of The Endorphin Machine. Fueled by the Baron of the bass Ben Bennett and drumming power-plant Steve Clark\, this machine is all about bringing the music. Because that’s what Prince himself was about: The music. DESCRIPTION:Nico Lembo was born and raised in Clearwater\, Florida and began playing drums at age 11 at the insistence of his father.  He attended college at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville in 2006\, where he received instruction from world-renowned drummer Danny Gottlieb.  Under Danny’s tutelage\, Nico developed a refined sense of groove\, musicianship\, and technique.  In 2008\, Nico had the great honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the UNF Wind Ensemble\, and upon graduating in 2010\, lent his talents to many Jacksonville area bands performing live shows and recordings.  He has recorded with Jacksonville artists Saltwater Grass\, Toots Lorraine and the Traffic\, and Brady Clampitt\, along with the UNF Jazz Ensemble 2 and UNF combo 1.  As a member of Saltwater Grass\, he played across the southeast\, including multiple festivals at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak\, Florida.  2013 brought a location change to Atlanta\, Georgia where he immediately began working with members of Grammy award winning band Arrested Development\, and with the award winning corporate band the Emerald Empire Band. Learn her name in David Stephens’ production of Billy Goats Gruff and Other Stuff. \nIn this one-man performance utilizing hand\, rod\, and glove puppets\, Stephens retells classic fairy tales as well as telling a few of his own original tales. You’ll see what happens when three billy goats try to cross over a bridge belonging to a greedy troll in The Three Billy Goats Gruff. \nParker Pig encounters some good luck when he stumbles over a watering can in The One Little Pig and the Three Wishes; a retelling of a family favorite. \nOne of Stephens’ original stories\, The Two Farmers\, involves Farmer Frick and Farmer Frack and how they learn to work together to make a pot of stew. \nAll this\, plus the antics of some silly chickens\, in Billy Goats Gruff and Other Stuff. \nDeveloped for Alabama Public Libraries‚ Summer Reading Programs\, this show has entertained both children and their parents. The Center for Puppetry Arts hosted an 8-week run of over 100\, virtually sold-out\, performances of this production in 2002. Since then\, the Center has hosted two equally successful revivals in 2004 and 2007. DESCRIPTION:Atlanta R.E.M. tribute band the REMakes knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That’s the reason their covers of songs from R.E.M.’s early catalog (ranging from Chronic Town to Monster) are authentic and true to the original recordings. Playing the band’s biggest hits as well as deep album tracks\, the REMakes take their audience on a musical ride back to 1980s’ Athens\, Ga. \nLead singer and guitar player Geoff Melkonian and bass player and backing vocalist Jeff Rosenberg have been playing together since they were 14 and R.E.M. was still an underground band. Melkonian and drummer Webb Vandiver began jamming when they were in their early 20s. DESCRIPTION:Atlanta Funk Society is a Funk band from Atlanta\, GA\, playing classic hits from the ’60s\, ’70s and ’80s\, including everything from “Superbad” by James Brown\, to “Whatcha Gonna Do For Me” by Chaka Kahn.  \nStarted in the summer of 2010\, the Atlanta Funk Society brought together a collection of some of the best musicians Atlanta had to offer. Founding members guitarist and vocalist Rob Lane (the Apostles) and bass player Kevin Scott (Col. Bruce Hampton\, and others too numerous to mention) wanted to fill the need for a hard hitting funk band playing classic hits from the 60’s\, 70’s and 80’s.  \nTheir first call was to Jonathan Lloyd(Cadillac Jones\, Lloyds Rocksteady Review)\, local trombone player and vocalist to put together the horn section which has included Deniz Felder\, Jason Collier\, Jon Marett (Willie Nelson\, Waylon Jennings\, OutKast\, Goodie Mob)\, Prof. Eric Fontaine (just about every great band in Atlanta)\, and Taylor Kennedy (Soulphonics\, Blair Crimmins). Next to join were guitarist Nick Johnson(Last Waltz Ensemble\, Pharoh Gummitt) and drummer Duane Trucks(Derek Trucks\, Pharoh Gummit) lending their unrivaled musicianship to the group. The keyboards were manned by Florida transplant and first call pianist Nick Rosen. Scotty Bryan (Cinetrope\, 3052 dub Collective) stepped up the bands’ vibe with the addition of percussion.  \nThe next critical piece was a female vocalist\, and after a long search\, Michelle Marshall came into the fold and showed what was up.
