SUMMARY:Atlanta Funk Society
DESCRIPTION:Atlanta Funk Society is a Funk band from Atlanta\, GA\, playing classic hits from the ’60s\, ’70s and ’80s\, including everything from “Superbad” by James Brown\, to “Whatcha Gonna Do For Me” by Chaka Kahn.  \nStarted in the summer of 2010\, the Atlanta Funk Society brought together a collection of some of the best musicians Atlanta had to offer. Founding members guitarist and vocalist Rob Lane (the Apostles) and bass player Kevin Scott (Col. Bruce Hampton\, and others too numerous to mention) wanted to fill the need for a hard hitting funk band playing classic hits from the 60’s\, 70’s and 80’s. \nTheir first call was to Jonathan Lloyd(Cadillac Jones\, Lloyds Rocksteady Review)\, local trombone player and vocalist to put together the horn section which has included Deniz Felder\, Jason Collier\, Jon Marett (Willie Nelson\, Waylon Jennings\, OutKast\, Goodie Mob)\, Prof. Eric Fontaine (just about every great band in Atlanta)\, and Taylor Kennedy (Soulphonics\, Blair Crimmins). Next to join were guitarist Nick Johnson(Last Waltz Ensemble\, Pharoh Gummitt) and drummer Duane Trucks(Derek Trucks\, Pharoh Gummit) lending their unrivaled musicianship to the group. The keyboards were manned by Florida transplant and first call pianist Nick Rosen. Scotty Bryan (Cinetrope\, 3052 dub Collective) stepped up the bands’ vibe with the addition of percussion. \nThe next critical piece was a female vocalist\, and after a long search\, Michelle Marshall came into the fold and showed what was up. The last piece was additional percussionist Yaya Brown to provide the perfect complement to Scotty Bryan and complete the driving rhythms of AFS. \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nPurchasing a General Admission ticket does not guarantee a seat/table. \nAdditional reservations are not required if booth\, table\, or banquette tickets have been purchased via Ticketfly. \nPLEASE NOTE: If earlier dinner reservations are made\, your seats are not guaranteed for the show. SUMMARY:Venkman's presents Bottomless Mimosa Brunch w/ Dave Potter Trio
DESCRIPTION:Dave Potter is quickly becoming known as a formidable musician. He has performed with many well-known jazz artists and recorded 3 albums with Jason Marsalis. Following his graduation from Florida State University in 2005\, he was chosen from a national pool of applicants to be a member of the Louis Armstrong Quintet at the University of New Orleans. Unfortunately\, the tragedy of hurricane Katrina temporarily ended his hopes for a career in Louisiana. In the spring of 2006\, Dave was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Julliard Jazz Program in New York City. However\, after several days of intense meditation he declined the offer and returned to Florida State University\, where he received his Master’s Degree in the winter of 2008 after further collaboration with his mentor Marcus Roberts. In 2010\, Potter was featured in a novel entitled “The New Face of Jazz” about the younger generation of Jazz musicians making an impact in the current scene. Dave is now located in Atlanta where he maintains a busy teaching and performing schedule while also touring the globe as a member of The Jason Marsalis Vibes Quartet. \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nTickets are not available for FREE shows. SUMMARY:A Tribute to the Dynamic Duo: Bowie Vs. Gabriel
DESCRIPTION:A Dynamic Duo indeed!  \nA tribute to two of the most creative\, dynamic\, and powerful artists to ever grace the rock and roll stage. Two of Atlanta’s best tribute bands\, Jerome Newton and the Band Who Fell to Earth\, and The Sledgehammers will treat you to an evening of music by David Bowie and Peter Gabriel. How much awesomeness can one stage hold? \nThe Sledgehammers are an Atlanta based Peter Gabriel tribute band. They play selections from the icon’s legendary solo career with a heavy focus on the So and Us albums. Featuring 7 top-notch musicians from over the vast Atlanta music scene\, The Sledgehammers deliver a powerful and emotional show. The band approaches these unforgettable songs with a reverence to the man\, his message and the level of musicianship this music deserves. \nJerome Newton and the Band Who Fell to Earth (the name is an allusion to Bowie’s iconic role in The Man Who Fell to Earth) has been called “a Bowie tribute for Bowie lovers”. They play music from his entire career – the hits and the deep cuts – with reverence and energy. They don’t try to “imitate” a particular phase – even Bowie himself brought a new persona to stage almost every year. Instead\, they bring their own approach to the material – never straying far from the source\, but never coming off as mere imitators either. Their music\, their look\, their lively stage show\, all combine to create a memorable experience. Come see for yourself! \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nGeneral Admission is standing room only. \nAdditional reservations are not required if a table\, booth or banquette have been purchased via Big Tickets. \nPLEASE NOTE: If earlier dinner reservations are made\, your seats are not guaranteed for the show. SUMMARY:Free Early Show: Guilty Pleasure Hits with Wet Jeans
DESCRIPTION:With a pleasantly eclectic background and a mutual love for music\, Wet Jeans has quite the innovative yet powerful sound for a band consisting of just three members. The band was formed accidentally in 2013 when Caleb Little (lead vocals/guitar) thought his acoustic performance would be lot less boring with a rhythm section. He was not wrong. An invitation to the stage was sent to Neal Colledge (bass/vocals) and Brian Hekman (drums/vocals) whom\, before that night\, had never met. \nThe three men had such a great time performing together and not being boring that they decided right there on that very stage in the small town of Canton\, GA that their quest of aural endeavors was only beginning. Their collective love for pop-turned-rock cover songs and influence from the sounds of 90’s rock and Motown with dashes of classic blues and pop led the trio into writing their own material as well. And with the amalgamation of meaningful lyrics\, catchy melodies\, and driving rhythms of their originals blended with high-energy performances of their guilty-pleasure\, mega-fun covers\, Wet Jeans dares you to not have a good time. \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nTickets are not available for FREE shows. For seating at a FREE show\, please make reservations for the appropriate time at www.venkmans.com (see “Reservations”)\, or by calling 470-225-6162.

\nRESERVATION INFO: \nTickets are not available for FREE shows. For seating at a FREE show\, please make reservations for the appropriate time at www.venkmans.com (see “Reservations”)\, or by calling 470-225-6162.
