SUMMARY:Pink Zeppelin + Heartisans
DESCRIPTION:Do you love classic rock like Led Zeppelin\, Pink Floyd and Heart? Don’t miss Venkman’s Classic Rock Night on Saturday\, February 1st featuring Pink Zeppelin and the Heartisans. \nPink Zeppelin \nPink Zeppelin performs the music of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd with a focus on recreating the songs as recorded on their albums. The band performs classics as well as deep tracks\, including acoustic and electric stylings. Pink Zeppelin features four of Atlanta’s veteran musicians including: \nMark Michelson: Vocals\, harmonica and acoustic guitar. Mark has been performing and organizing jams in Atlanta for over a decade. having played his way through UGA in the early 80’s\, he took a break from performing for 25 years until resurfacing at Lefty Williams’ Pink Floyd jam 10 years ago. Since then he has performed in hundreds of shows throughout Atlanta as Mark Michelson & Friends covering a wide variety of classic rock and singer songwriter material. \nReese Boyd: Lead guitar and backup vocals. Reese is a genuine prodigy. A hugely talented multi-instrumentalist\, Reese currently plays lead guitar in the Spirit of Rush\, The Reese Boyd Project and Chef Boyd RB. Reese has been performing since he was 7 years old and effortlessly plays some toughest songs by Steely Dan\, Yes\, Rush\, Pink Floyd\, Led Zeppelin and more. \nJohnny Barrett: Bass and vocals. Johnny has become quite popular on the jam band circuit and currently plays in a Phish tribute band called Skyballs\, the Allman Brothers tribute band Sweet Melissa and the Ramblin Men\, Bad Ash Allstars and Snack Attack \nRick Austin: drums and vocals\,. Rick is a multi-instrumentalist who leads the Backwash Brothers\, Anger Management Rock\, Panda Moon and manages The Reese Boyd Project. \nHeartisans \nHeartisans is an Atlanta-based tribute band that celebrates the music of the first women of rock\, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart. They play the songs you’d expect to hear – “Magic Man\,” “Straight On\,” “Barracuda\,” “These Dreams\,” etc. – along with some lesser hits and a deep track or two. \nMarva Rodriguez: Lead Vocals\, keyboards. Major Influences: “HEART! (Since age 14 in 1984 when I first heard the Greatest Hits Live album\, I’ve wanted to be Ann Wilson if I grew up. I’ll never grow up\, so she really doesn’t have to worry or anything…); Styx\, Journey\, Pat Benatar\, Tori Amos\, The Beatles\, a lot of 60s\, 70s and 80s music with strong vocals and awesome harmonies.” \nSharon Glass: Rhythm Guitar\, vocals. Major Influences: The Beatles (“one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar was “All My Lovin”)\, Yes (“Been a fan since about the age of 6! Fell in love with their harmonies\, Jon Anderson’s voice and Rick Wakeman’s heavenly keyboard sounds!”)\, Elton John (“his music and Bernie Taupin’s lyrics literally saved my life on several occasions over the years”)\, Led Zeppelin (for obvious reasons)\, Peter Frampton (because Frampton Comes Alive) and Rush (because Moving Pictures changed my world and Alex Lifeson’s playing just blew me away! Plus\, he was just so freakin’ HOT!”). \nJohanna Millin: Lead guitar\, vocals. Major Influences: Led Zeppelin\, Return to Forever\, Al DiMeola and Chuck Mangione \nAlan Siler: Drums\, percussion. Major Influences: “KISS – I taught myself to play drums by listening to Peter Criss (the Love Gun album\, the first rock record I ever owned) but a bigger influence on my style was Eric Carr; David Bowie\, Neil Peart (of course!)\, Mick Fleetwood\, Alan White of Yes\, Stewart Copeland of the Police.” \nLinda Bav:  Bass\, vocals  Major Influences: “Heart! Led Zeppelin\, Pink Floyd\, The Who\, the Rolling Stones\, Santana\, Neil Young\, The Grateful Dead\, The Allman Brothers\, Eric Clapton. I started playing piano at age 3. Took drum lessons from ages 11-14. Then picked up a guitar at age 14\, and have been playing all things with frets n strings ever since! I took a luthiery course when I was 21\, and I have a 12-string guitar and an electric guitar that I built\, every step of the way. I recorded an album of original songs\, called People In The Middle\, in 1990.” \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nPlease note: Communal seating is in the bar area at a high-top table and will be seated first-come\, first-serve as ticket holders for these seats arrive. \nGeneral Admission will be standing room only once all bar seats are occupied at our main bar or kitchen bar. \nAdditional reservations are not required if a table\, booth or banquette have been purchased via Big Tickets.
