SUMMARY:Chicken Pickin' Brunch with Coyote Anyway
DESCRIPTION:A Coyote chorus howls against a fading summer swelter. The mellow jangle of rusty strings picked with a fierce intuition\, refreshing like a crisp cold brew on a hot day. Coyote Anyway makes music like that. Both fresh and familiar. With a tip of the hat to a hundred years of American music\, their sound is informed by classic wax from both sides of the tracks. A lazy country shuffle\, a touch Bo Diddley flavored mambo\, a few barnburner blues romps. Maybe when the lights go lower and the bar is filling\, they turn up a bit and this potent blend sounds a bit like Rock & Roll\, the way your grandpappy thought of it. \nThe story of Coyote Anyway is a long road with many forks. Comprised of Dave Kirslis \, Matt Garrison\, Zeke Sayer and Matthew Pendrick\, the group has roots that run deep. All born and raised in Georgia\, the members of this coyote collective have steeped in the rich music culture of the south\, and digested its potent tonic to heart. It’s the sound of old friends coming together to play what comes naturally and what feels good. Over the years they have shared a thousand stages with some of the best around. “A real appreciation for tradition doesn’t mean you must be tied to the past…really it’s freeing. To use those sounds and ideas as spring board to our own twist on it\, not unlike the way any one of our heroes did in their day.” \n“Every member of this group is doing really great things on their own and with other projects and such\,” says Pendrick. “I think that’s part of what makes it so fun. There’s a lot of mutual respect for each other as players and writers\, so when we have a chance to get together\, there’s a genuine excitement that comes from being in such good company.” Audiences around the South who have been privy to the band’s live set have said much the same. Toes get to tappin. Hearts get to bumping. Everybody have a real good time. \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nTickets are not available for FREE shows. For seating at a FREE show\, please make reservations for the appropriate time at www.venkmans.com (see “Reservations”)\, or by calling 470-225-6162.

Rock! \nAdmission is free\, but we do recommend grabbing reservations while they last. Visit www.venkmans.com (See “Reservations”)\, or call us at 470-225-6162. \nAbout DJ MP3PO: \nBorn in Brooklyn\, NY in body….and Atlanta\, GA in spirit. \nAs a human and as a DJ robot-music-contraption I feel I am always growing up\, but as a child my mom almost exclusively bombarded me with Marvin Gaye\, Stevie Wonder\, Etta James\, Otis Redding\, Percy Sledge\, The Temptations\, Michael Jackson\, The Beatles\, Joseph Niles and The Merrymen\, Bob Marley\, Michael McDonald\, Gladys Knight\, The Commodores\, Linda Ronstadt\, The Police\, Donna Summer\, Barry White\, John Coltrane\, Kenny Rogers\, The Bee Gees\, Wilson Pickett\, Queen\, Fleetwood Mac\, Prince\, Madonna\, Al Jarreau\, Bruce Springsteen\, Thelma Houston\, Cameo\, Whitney Houston\, Elvis Costello\, and Byron Lee and The Dragonaires….can’t forget them. Exclusively bombarded. It wasn’t until my later musical matriculation that I found artists such as The Beastie Boys\, A Tribe Called Quest\, De La Soul\, Bel Biv Devoe\, Bobby Brown\, Daft Punk\, Radiohead\, Outkast\, Mariah Carey\, Nas\, Alicia Keyes\, Camp Lo\, Notorious B.I.G\, Dave Matthews Band\, Bloc Party\, Weezer\, Bright Eyes\, Lauryn Hill\, PM Dawn\, Beck\, Yeah Yeah Yeahs\, Built To Spill\, Black Star\, Jay-Z\, The Pharcyde\, The Indigo Girls\, LCD Soundsystem\, The White Stripes\, Hall and Oates\, Arcade Fire\, Liz Phair\, The X-ray Specs\, The Pixies\, They Might Be Giants\, Bjork\, N.E.R.D.\, The Specials\, and Depeche Mode….to name a modest few. \nMP3PO DJ’d his first gig in the spring of 1993. End of the school year at his best friend John Morehead’s basement in Lilburn\, GA. He had a CD player and a tape deck\, plus a working understanding of the graphic EQ and pause button. No idea how to mix but undeniable ability to read the crowd and know good music when he heard it. Coincidentally\, he had his first kiss that day too while listening to Nine Inch Nails. \nIf DJ MP3PO had to pick one song that would get him on the dance floor\, it’s Jamiroquai’s “Canned Heat”. MP3PO thinks this song is the father of the nu-disco movement. Disco\, funk\, and pop got together at a speakeasy\, drank some absinthe\, and decided to take each other home. His honorable mention goes to Prince’s “KISS”. Sexiness in audio form. \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nThis is a FREE event! Tickets are not available for FREE shows. For seating at a FREE show\, please make reservations for the appropriate time at www.venkmans.com (see “Reservations”)\, or by calling 470-225-6162.
