SUMMARY:Puppet Brunch! Billy Goats Gruff & Other Stuff
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that Little Red Riding Hood has a first name? Learn her name in David Stephens’ production of Billy Goats Gruff and Other Stuff. \nIn this one-man performance utilizing hand\, rod\, and glove puppets\, Stephens retells classic fairy tales as well as telling a few of his own original tales. You’ll see what happens when three billy goats try to cross over a bridge belonging to a greedy troll in The Three Billy Goats Gruff. \nParker Pig encounters some good luck when he stumbles over a watering can in The One Little Pig and the Three Wishes; a retelling of a family favorite. \nOne of Stephens’ original stories\, The Two Farmers\, involves Farmer Frick and Farmer Frack and how they learn to work together to make a pot of stew. \nAll this\, plus the antics of some silly chickens\, in Billy Goats Gruff and Other Stuff. \nDeveloped for Alabama Public Libraries‚ Summer Reading Programs\, this show has entertained both children and their parents. The Center for Puppetry Arts hosted an 8-week run of over 100\, virtually sold-out\, performances of this production in 2002. Since then\, the Center has hosted two equally successful revivals in 2004 and 2007. In 2005\, this show was honored by receiving a Citation of Excellence from UNIMA-USA (Union Internationale de la Marionette): the equivalent of an Oscar in the puppetry world. \nTICKETING/RESERVATION INFO\nTICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL GUESTS AGES 2 AND UP. Your ticket serves as your brunch reservation. Additional reservation arrangements are not necessary once ticket is purchased. If you have special seating requests/needs\, please call 470-225-6162.

SUMMARY:The REMakes: A tribute to the early catalogue of R.E.M.
DESCRIPTION:Atlanta R.E.M. tribute band the REMakes knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That’s the reason their covers of songs from R.E.M.’s early catalog (ranging from Chronic Town to Monster) are authentic and true to the original recordings. Playing the band’s biggest hits as well as deep album tracks\, the REMakes take their audience on a musical ride back to 1980s’ Athens\, Ga. \nLead singer and guitar player Geoff Melkonian and bass player and backing vocalist Jeff Rosenberg have been playing together since they were 14 and R.E.M. was still an underground band. Melkonian and drummer Webb Vandiver began jamming when they were in their early 20s. Out of a love and passion for the music they grew up with\, the three musicians came together in 2009 as the REMakes. \nTICKETING & RESERVATION INFO: \nPurchasing a General Admission ticket does not guarantee a seat/table. \nBar area seating is also first-come\, first-serve. \nAdditional reservations are not required if a table\, booth\, or banquette has been purchased via Ticketfly. \nPLEASE NOTE: If earlier dinner reservations are made\, your seats are not guaranteed for the show. For example\, you cannot reserve a table at 8:00pm and keep it for a 10:00pm show. The only way to guarantee a seat for the show is to purchase booth or banquette tickets. \nReservations for the Captain’s Room (private dining room) can be reserved for parties of 12-20 guests. For more info call 470-225-6162.
