DESCRIPTION:Formed in 2010\, Pioneer Chicken Stand knows how to get people dancing. Frontmen Matty Croxton and Craig McGriff\, both Alabama boys\, wanted to get back to their roots and merge their talents into a high-energy\, harmony-driven\, folk-rock sound. When drummer Derek Day joined not long after\, the band transitioned into an even more energetic collaboration. With influences like The Band\, Merle Haggard\, Gram Parsons\, The Rolling Stones\, Hank Williams\, and The Avett Brothers\, the songs of Pioneer Chicken Stand pay homage to a simple life in the rural South\, just maybe with a lot more whiskey. Though they regularly play a select group of clubs in the metro Atlanta and Birmingham areas\, they’re also available for weddings\, private\, and corporate events\, and have traveled to locations like Mobile\, AL\, Asheville\, NC\, and Charleston\, SC to perform. From ‘Hand in my Pocket’ to ‘Ironic’ (and all stops in-between)\, Saved by the Band seek to recreate Alanis’ sound\, fury\, and harmonica mastery. Then stick around for a second set of Lady Jams – all female-fronted hits featuring some Lilith Fair favorites.
