Puppet Brunch! Jack and the Beanstalk
Event Navigation
You may think you know the story of “Jack and the Beanstalk,” but you’ve never seen a version like All
Hands Productions’ retelling. Puppeteer David Stephens’ knack for fractured fairy tales comes shining
through in this wacky, 45-minute spin on a classic story incoving a boy named Jack, a giant, some
magic beans and a talking beanstalk. That’s right, a talking beanstalk. You’ll also meet Agnes,
Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother; Howie, of of the Shoemaker’s elves; the ever-grumbly, Rumplestilskin;
and a hare training for a famous race with a tortoise. If none of this makes any sense, you’ll want to see
All Hands Prodcutions’ “Jack and the Beanstalk.”
This show has been hosted by Atlanta’s Center for Puppetry Arts and The Puppet Showplace Theatre in
Brookline, MA. In 2006, Heather Henson and IBEX Puppetry offered this production at the Orlando
Puppetry Festival in Orlando, FL. It was also featured at the 2010 Puppets Up! Festival in Almonte, ON
Canaada and presented as part of Festival Fringe at Puppetry (r)Evolution, the 2013 Festival of the
Puppeteers of America.
